Claspt’s core features are free forever. Pro and Pro+ unlock cloud sync, import, sharing, and more. This guide covers what each tier includes and how to manage your license.

Tip

The free tier has no artificial limits on pages, secrets, or encryption strength. Your data is always yours — export it anytime, copy the vault folder manually, or point other tools at the same directory.

Free Tier

The free tier includes everything you need for a fully functional encrypted notes vault:

• Unlimited pages and secrets — no caps, no trial expiry on core features.
• Full AES-256-GCM encryption — the same encryption used in Pro and Pro+.
• Local vault with Git history — automatic version history for every page.
• Search — tantivy-powered full-text search across titles, tags, labels, and content.
• Themes, generator, utilities, export — the complete desktop experience.

There is no lock-in. Your vault is a folder of .md files. You can open them in any text editor, sync them with your own tools, or back them up however you like.

Pro Tier

Everything in Free, plus:

• Cloud sync — sync your vault across up to 5 devices. End-to-end encrypted; the server never sees plaintext.
• Import — import from 1Password, Bitwarden, KeePass, LastPass, Chrome, and other password managers via CSV or XML.
• Sharing — generate share links for individual pages or secrets. Supports expiry, burn-after-reading, and revocation.
• Email support — direct access to the team at support@claspt.app.

Pro+ Tier

Everything in Pro, plus:

• Vault storage — encrypted cloud backup of your entire vault. Your vault blobs are encrypted client-side before upload; we cannot read them.
• Up to 10 devices — sync across more machines.
• Priority support — faster response times and priority issue handling.

Pricing and Trial

Current pricing is listed on the pricing page. All paid plans include a 14-day free trial with no credit card required — activate it from within the app and start syncing immediately.

License Activation

When you purchase a plan, you’ll receive a license key via email.

1. Open Settings > License.
2. Paste the license key into the input field.
3. Click Activate.

Claspt validates the license locally using Ed25519 signature verification. No internet connection is required for day-to-day use after activation.

Note

Each license key is tied to a device count (5 for Pro, 10 for Pro+). Activating on a new device consumes one slot.

License Management

From Settings > License, you can:

• Check status — see your current plan, activation date, and days remaining.
• Deactivate — release the license from this device so you can transfer it to another machine.
• Renew — when your license is approaching expiry, paste the renewal key you receive via email.

Caution

Deactivating a license does not delete your vault or data. Your pages and secrets remain on disk and are fully accessible in free-tier mode. You just lose access to Pro features like sync and import until you reactivate.

Data Portability

Regardless of your plan, your data is always portable:

• Export — go to Settings > Export to download your vault as a zip archive or structured CSV/JSON.
• Manual copy — the vault is a regular directory. Copy it, back it up, or open it with other tools.
• No server dependency — even if you cancel Pro, every page and secret remains on your device, fully functional in free-tier mode.
